Gee, does anybody know what happened? Did McLaren change Newey for
Brown?? Or Newey was stucked in the Montreal traffic? Well, the things
happened so quickly that those millions of Ferrari fans can't believe it even
today! Okay, so Mika forgot that his car in spite of all its qualities must
run on second, third, fourth and preferably also fifth and sixth gear to
be quicker than anybody else. And David continued the "new tradition"
paradox called "The Twins of Siam" when his car followed Mika's into
the pits. Or, DC who follows Mika every race followed him also this
time... What is the most important thing that we saw a TRUE American
style racin' !! Oh Canada!
Bernie Decided
You ask yourself why we could see such fabulous racing action in a real
American style? Bernie finally decided! Every driver who didn't finish
the race got a 1 million $ premium for an "action DNF". FIA would not
do that, so Bernie had to pay all of them from his pocket money. The
track marshals showed the points for every driver who had a nice
accidents or collision. The best "performance" showed Alex Wurz
who got a Red flag which is worth 10 points. That means that there is
an extra title prepared for the drivers who got the most points for
a "stylish" pirouette or crash. This race's point table shows as follows:
Driver Points
Alex Wurz 10
Jarno Trulli 7
Mika Salo 6
Frentzen 5
Ralf S. 4
Pedro Diniz 4
JV 3
Watching those funny Hill's manoeuvres I almost began to sing one famous
song by Beatles called "Full On The Hill". But it luckily wasn't to be...
Oh, and thanks god Panis lost the chance to make his Deja vou 1997.
Intelligent FIA For Schuminator?
Do you believe him? He said that he didn't see anybody watching into the
mirrors. Well, that's maybe what his brother taught him after the Italian GP
last year (Ralf pushed off the track at the main straight Herbert).
The race was really tough at that moment. Schumacher got a STOP-GO
penalty for overtaking under yellow flag. That's very interesting - FIA
could have disqualified or ban him for doing such a hazardous stupid
manoeuvre but getting only a STOP-GO penalty was satisfying for them.
You can't penalize twice for the same reason. And that's what probably
FIA thought of. That's why they cancelled Williams' appeal. Patrick
Head was pretty angry after the incident and said Jean Todt that they will
do everything for Ferrari not to finish the race. Wow, nice said Patrick!
And even more intelligent from you that you forgot to do that! And one
more thing - is Eddie Irvine really so good or does he have a better
material than anyone else in the field?? My best congratulations for his
splendid race!! GO Eddie GO - and don't hit anybody!
Silver Cars Doin' Great!
That's what it was for those Minardi's. Congratulations for both
Nakano who finished (that's important and not that he finished so well)
and Tuero who had the special opportunity to hit the World Champion
on his homestead track called after his daddy. Congratulations boys and
many happy returns!!
